Day 1:
After a hearty breakfast, your journey to David begins. At 14:00, you'll be expected at the designated car drop-off point, where your transfer to Mount Totuma eagerly awaits. A skilled driver will be ready with a four-wheel-drive vehicle to transport you to the highest cloud forest lodge in Panama, situated at an elevation of 1700 meters. The drive takes approximately two hours, covering a distance of approximately 78 kilometers.
Mount Totumas may not be a luxurious 5-star resort, but it is an absolutely captivating destination for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The proprietors of this establishment are a veritable treasure trove of knowledge when it comes to trees, animals, and even the tiniest of beetles. In no time, you'll feel like an integral part of the family.
Your package includes three wholesome meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – crafted primarily from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Non-alcoholic beverages are also included for your enjoyment throughout your stay.
Day 2 and 3:
Offer you the freedom to explore and enjoy your stay at Mount Totumas Lodge. You'll have the option to select from eight self-guided marked trails, each of which is described in greater detail below. Additionally, there are guided tours available, such as the ascent to the peak of Mount Totumas and excursions to remote areas within La Amistad National Park.
Your hosts, Jeffrey and his wife, are a wealth of knowledge and will readily provide you with valuable insights and recommendations to ensure you make the most of your time here. Their warm hospitality will make you feel right at home.
During your stay at Mount Totumas Lodge, you will be accommodated in a family room with four beds. Your package includes three delicious meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – as well as some non-alcoholic beverages to keep you refreshed throughout your adventure.
Day 4:
For today, we've made arrangements for a semi-private transfer, exclusively shared with other lodge guests, which will take you to Almirante. From there, a short 10-minute public speedboat ride will transport you to Bocas. Upon your arrival, a friendly representative from Shana Travel will be there to welcome you. If you have any questions or require assistance, she will be more than happy to assist you. If needed, she can also accompany you to the bank, and subsequently, escort you to your hotel.
At Bocas, you have two accommodation options. The first is the Sand Dollar, where the downstairs suites offer one bedroom with twin beds and another with a double bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom.
Alternatively, you can choose the Turtle Beach House, which features a room with a queen bed and a bunk bed. This option is located at Playa Bluff, offering a unique coastal experience.
