Is situated in the center of the Gulf of Chiriquí, in the Central American country of Panama. Established in 1994, it spans 150 square kilometers and is designed to protect marine ecosystems, including coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, and approximately two dozen islands of the Paridas Islands archipelago. The park is renowned for its rich wildlife, which includes green iguanas, humpback whales (from August to October), hammerhead sharks, dolphins, and several species of sea turtles on the islands' beaches.
The protected area is known as the Paridas Islands archipelago, and only Parida and Paridita islands are inhabited. There are over 16 more islands throughout the archipelago.
