The Albina of Sarigua, Sarigua Desert, or Sarigua National Park is located in the Parita district of Herrera Province in Panama. While it is not considered a desert due to its annual precipitation level of around 930 mm, it is referred to as one because the arid conditions caused by factors such as soil salinity, winds, and human intervention give it all the characteristics of a desert.
Flora and fauna in the Albina include a wide variety of plant species, including different types of mangroves and laurel. The fauna is primarily represented by pelicans, kingfishers, and numerous butterfly species. Some species of cacti and other arid soil plants can also be found in the national park, not to mention arthropods like scorpions and grasshoppers
